Qui Tam and False Claim Acts By Stephen M. Kohn |
This link will take you to the National Whistleblower Center. All proceeds from book sales benefit the National Whistleblower Center, a nonprofit educational and advocacy organization dedicated to helping whistleblower.
This is the second book in the National Whistleblower Center’s “Whistleblower Laws” series. It outlines all current U.S. laws that allow private citizens who witness fraud against a government entity to blow the whistle by filing suit—and to be awarded a portion of the monies recovered by their actions. The book contains the text of the federal False Claims Act, other false-claims legislation from 22 states and various city governments, and the federal qui tam provisions covering tax fraud.
Qui tam laws have become a popular tool for states and municipalities in the fight against government waste. In 2006 alone, the federal government used the act to recover $1.41 billion from fraudulent contractors. This book is an invaluable resource for whistleblowers and plaintiff’s attorneys who are interested in qui tam laws.
